Pioneer Home Theater System

Filed under: School of Products, Video Portal — admin @ 7:42 pm

While the company name of Pioneer might be less known here in the United States, their contributions to the electronic entertainment world have shaped and changed the industry forever. Like their name boasts, they truly are a pioneer in the industry, often coming up with new electronic devices before any other brand has a chance. In 1962, Pioneer introduced us to the world’s first separate stereo system. In 1975 they gave us the very first component car stereo. They brought the first 2-way addressable Cable TV system in 1977, in ‘79 and ‘80 they were one of the forerunners for LaserDisc Players and in 1984 they developed the first machine to play both LaserDiscs AND CDs. Also in 1984 the world’s first ever car CD player was brought about by Pioneer. They produced the world’s first CD that is based GPS unit in 1990, the first ever 4X CD-Rom car changer in 1992, the first DVD/CD/LD player in 1996, and the first very DVD based GPS in 1997. They’re also the masterminds behind the world’s first DVD-R drive, the first OEL-equipped car audio product, the first 50-inch HD plasma screen TV, the first DVD-RW recorder, the first DVD player for professional DJ’s and VJ’s, and in 2008 they developed a 16-layer BlueRay Disc that can store 400GB. With all these great devices, it’s only natural that many people are after Pioneer home theater systems. Being the leader in DVD, Blue Ray, and HDTV technology, it’s no wonder that Pioneer home theater systems are some of the most innovative and powerful home theater systems on the market today. Coming in a variety of colors and wattage, along with Pioneer’s highest quality High Definition TVs and 5.1 surround sound speaker system makes Pioneer stand out as a high quality and innovative home theater brand name. And with prices starting in the low $200 price range, Pioneer’s home theater equipment is one of the most affordable and consumer friendly systems around. While Pioneer home theater systems are popular and in demand, they won’t be around for a whole lot longer. On February 12, 2009, Pioneer made the public announcement that it will be discontinuing its line of television sets by March of 2010. So if you haven’t done so already, you should get your home theater system from the most innovative electronics brand around before your opportunity to do so is gone, and you only have a year or less to do so.

Navigating the Skin Care Labyrinth

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:51 am

Most consumers give little thought to the recognized allergens, probable carcinogens, hormone disrupters and synthetic industrial chemicals that have been inadequately tested and yet, can be found in the formulae of our skin and body care products, shampoos, conditioners, cosmetics, perfumes, infant body care products, etc. These products line the shelves of high-end department stores, drug stores, specialty retailers, and natural health retailers. With media reports warning of the toxic soup most of us bathe in daily, the ugly side of the cosmetic and personal care industry is on the radar of consumer groups such as The Breast Cancer Fund, Think Before You Pink, Environmental Working Group, The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, as well as concerned physicians and scientists.

The public believes that the industry is regulated by a federal agency that insures toxic chemicals are not added to the products we use many times daily. So, you might wonder, who is responsible for regulating the personal care industry and looking out for consumer health and safety?

The cosmetic industry will direct you to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the FDA will direct your query to the Cosmetics Ingredient Review (CIR) panel, and the CIR will share all the wonderful research they are conducting in the name of safety for the consumer. The problem with this picture is the CIR panel is funded by the giant mainstream personal care products companies whose ingredients and products must pass their review prior to entering the marketplace. These well recognized companies continue to use known or suspected toxic ingredients in their product formulae.

Of the FDA’s $800 million annual budget, less than 1% is allocated toward regulating the cosmetic industry. Neither the FDA nor any other government regulatory body actively assesses the safety of cosmetics before they are placed in the marketplace.

Testing for Safety?

According to Darin Stechman, Clinique’s brand representative, “Product safety has always been a top priority at Clinique Laboratories, and is ensured through state-of-the-art testing methods.” However, this testing, according to Stechman, does not include tests that establish long-term toxicity potential, carcinogenic properties, systemic absorption properties or chronic effects of daily use. Instead, large, mainstream cosmetics companies focus their research and both human and animal trial tests on assessing pre-marketed products for only allergenic reactions and skin irritations. Beyond skin eruptions and rashes, emerging science suggests that untold numbers of cosmetics and personal care ingredients may be silently and insidiously promoting cancer, disrupting women’s reproductive functions and causing birth defects.

According to Susan Roll of the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition, “one third of personal care products contain ingredients classified as possible human carcinogens.” Hence, chemicals such as acrylamide (in foundation, face lotion and hand cream) linked to mammary tumors in lab research; formaldehyde (nail polish and blush) classified as a possible human carcinogen by the Environmental Protection Agency; and dibutyl phthalate (industrial chemical commonly found in perfume and hair spray) known to damage the liver, kidney and reproductive systems, disrupt hormonal processes and increase breast cancer risk, are widely used by mainstream skin care and cosmetics manufacturers. Known by hundreds of long, intimidating chemical names, these ingredients are in the products we use in our daily personal care rituals.

It’s the daily grooming ritual that is of greatest concern. These toxic ingredients are absorbed by our skin and into our bodies. The cumulative exposure to a myriad of personal care products containing carcinogens, mutagens and reproductive toxins has not been assessed.

The Ugly Side to Pretty

Many believe that by purchasing products marketed as “natural” and “organic” from health stores, high-end department stores and other specialty retailers, they are guaranteed toxin-free ingredients. Unfortunately, major loopholes in federal law allow the $35 billion cosmetics industry to police itself, allowing unlimited amounts of toxic chemicals into personal care products with no required testing, no monitoring of health effects and inadequate labeling requirements.

According to Janet Nudelman, coordinator for the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, “The U.S. government, in relation to the FDA, has not been on the side of consumers and has not been on the side of public health.” This is obvious since cosmetic industry representatives serve on government panels that are looking into the consumer safety issue they are supposed to be regulating.

How to make Healthy Choices.

Since the CIR is funded by the well known cosmetic manufacturers and the FDA allocates so little funding toward regulating the cosmetics industry, how can the consumer confidently make healthy choices when purchasing personal care products?

Since 2000 The Environmental Working Group (EWG), a team of scientists, engineers, policy experts and lawyers, have dedicated countless hours examining data, scientific studies, and performed their own laboratory tests to expose threats to your health and the environment, and to offer solutions. Their web site, www.ewg.org provides practical information you can use to protect yourself and your loved ones.

The EWG analyzed the health and safety reviews of 10,000 ingredients in personal care products. They discovered that there is very little research available to document the safety or health risks of low dose repeated exposures to the chemical mixtures in these products. According to the EWG, the absence of this data should not be mistaken for proof of safety. The more these low dose chemical exposures are studied, the more is understood that they can cause adverse effects.

Based on their findings, the EWG has developed Skin Deep www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep, a sophisticated online rating system that ranks brand name products on their potential health risks and the absence of basic safety evaluations.

Janet Nudelman, of The Safe Cosmetics Campaign, says she uses Skin Deep regularly to look up ingredients in personal care products to find the safety reading. Her decision to purchase a product is based on the results.

In recent years, organic and 100% pure and natural products have become available from such companies as suki’s, Farmaesthetics, GratefulBody, Affusion, Monave, Earth’s Beauty, Simply Organic, WildeWood Naturals, Munchskins and more.

The health and safety of you and your loved ones is your responsibility. Read the labels of personal care products closely. If there are ingredients that you are not certain about, write them down and do a quick search to insure they are safe for use by you and your loved ones.

Natural HRT Alternatives - Herbal HRT for Menopause and Pre-Menopause

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:56 am

Natural HRT - What is it and how does it work?

Natural HRT is a plant-based method of naturally regulating hormones through the manipulation and utlization of natural plant derived compounds which act as hormonal regulators in a person’s body.

Natural alternatives to HRT have become popular largely in part to the discovery that synthetic HRT can actually endanger a woman’s health, and the hazards far outweigh any benefits. It was found that synthetic HRT may, in fact, increase the likelihood of the development of cancer, blood clots, stroke and heart attack.

The government also recently halted it’s hormone replacement therapy studies, making natural HRT an even more desirable and safer alternative to conventional HRT.

What Do Women Have to Say About Natural HRT?

One woman suffering menopause symptoms too unbearable to live with (anxiety, hot flashes, moodiness, sleeplessness, and more), turned to an integrative medicine practitioner (similar to a naturopath, but also integrates modern medicine), for a bio-identical, natural hormone replacement therapy remedy.

The woman, now 55 years old, says it has made a “huge difference” in the severity and presence of her worst menopause symptoms.

Bioidentical hormones, or plant derived hormone-like compounds, are popular HRT alternatives now, according to the North American Menopause Society, in addition to healthy diets, exercise, vitamins and calcium supplements.

Scientists have discovered that soy isoflavones function similarly to HRT without the risks associated with the controversial treatment. Soy isoflavones, especially in combination with other known menopause remedies like black cohosh, have been shown to alleviate fatigue, anxiety, hot flashes and night sweats, and they actually offer other health benefits as well. These additional health benefits are osteoporosis prevention and added bone health, lower LDL (bad cholesterol), and lower risk of blood clots and heart attack.

In addition, black cohosh has been used by women for centuries as a hormone regulator and as part of a “natural HRT” regimen in pre-menopausal and menopausal women.

Any way you look at it, there are distinct benefits and recognizable symptom relief in natural HRT alternatives. It would be wise to take advantage of these effective natural HRT alternatives.

Nailed! The Truth Behind Discount Nail Salons

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:53 am

There are discount nail salons on just about every corner these days and a great deal of competition within the industry. Salons that are higher in price are now going out of their way to specialize in different, branded systems that are inventive in the different ways they offer you to take care of your nails.

With Nail Salons on every corner, how do you pick the right one for you? There are many different types of Nail Salons, from your basic services to full out Retreats for weekends in the bed of luxury. How can you tell which one is right for what you want done?

You might enjoy paying less to have your fills done, but the cost of the product used to do that fill is still the same. All nail salons use the same kinds of products to work on your nails, so there really won’t be much difference in the type of products found in any salon you might visit. However, there ARE different brands available for each product type. If the nail salon you are going to uses a name brand product such as O.P.I, China Gaze, Creativespa, LECHAT Color Gel, Solar Oil, even at wholesale prices, the products cost about the same at either high end or low end Salons, so what extra value are you getting if you visit a more expensive nail salon?

What you are getting at a higher cost Salon are typically better services, benefits and in some cases, more personal care and attention. One of those benefits may be cleaner air. Indoor air pollution from the chemicals in nail products can be one of the biggest problems for those who have breathing problems, but still want to get their nails done. If you are getting your nails done at a higher end salon, there is a good chance that they have an air filter or fans or other air cleaners to stop the smell of acrylics from burning your nose or eyes when you walk in the door. Many additional services are being offered at higher end Salons, other than just your basic acrylic overlays with tips, and simple manicures and pedicures. When we asked clients about the best Salons they had patronized, they said there were differences in what the place looked like, but even when it wasn’t called a Day Spa it was just a step down from it. Here is a common list of services offered by higher end nail salons.

* Spa-level Manicures,

* Spa-level Pedicures,

* Natural Nail Care,

* Silk/Cotton/Linen Nail Wraps,

* Nail Art beyond simple one color flowers,

* Full Sets,

* Gel Overlays,

* Massage Legs, Arms, Hands

* Organic and Botanical products for Pedicures,

* Reflexology.

The whole atmosphere is different at a higher end nail salon. There is no rushing to get your nails done, with your cuticles being roughed up because technicians are filing quickly because they must do many more manicures a day to make a living wage.

Each nail technician in a higher-end salon should be dressed for success or wear a smock with the nail salon’s name on it. They are typically not gossiping among themselves about other clients and not speaking to each other in languages other than English. Salon clients consulted in the preparation of this article made a very strong recommendation that one language should be spoken when there are clients in the room and technicians should wear little or no jewelry.

All these different services are going to cost more and there is no way around that fact. For those who don’t need more than just a fill every two weeks, these benefits may mean nothing, but for those who want more, it’s going to cost more.

After asking different salon owners and those who get manicures and pedicures done regularly, all say one word: ” Sanitation.” The biggest difference between higher priced and discount Nail Salons is the level of cleanliness of the whole Salon, including the equipment and technicians. This should be the most basic criteria of choice.

Based on that, if you can’t decide whether you want to go to a discount nail salon or one that is higher priced, then here are a few additional ideas to might help you decide.

When you walk into a nail salon, either discount or higher in price, stop and look around. Are the floors dirty or does the carpet have big stains on it? What do the nail technicians look like? Do they look unkempt or have nails of their own that look like they need work? Are their stations disorganized and untidy? If this is what you are seeing, then the best thing you could do is just turn and walk away.

A health inspector we interviewed said that when she visited a particular nail salon, her first impression was that it looked clean, and the prices was reasonable. Then she began her close examination. What she saw was downright scary for the salon’s customers. The whirlpool for pedicures wasn’t properly disinfected between each use, and the foot baths provided the perfect environment for the growth of dangerous bacteria. When tested, the bacteria growing in the footbaths could have caused someone a major skin infection. Unfortunately, official inspectors regularly inspecting Salon premises are not as common as it once was. If the possibility of infection is something you are worried about, then a higher end nail salon would be a better choice because they can afford to take better care of their equipment and are typically more conscious of the welfare of their clients.

Today you can buy your own simple equipment for your nail technician to use on your nails and no one else’s. Many technicians use nail files that are single use. You can ask for them if that is something you would rather have used on your nails.

Nail technicians are there to give a service. If they do a great job, please don’t to forget to tip them - they have to eat too.

If you are not sure which Salon to patronize, ask your friends or family or work colleagues for recommendations about where they go to get their nails done. If you see someone with nails that you admire, don’t hesitate to ask them for a recommendation to their favorite Salon. Go with your friends and see their favorite salons for yourself, before having any work on done on your own nails.

Which Salon you choose should be based on many if not most of the ideas we have mentioned above, and on your income, where you live, and what you want done. Only you can decide what you are willing to pay to have the luxury of getting your nails and toes done.

Choosing & Buying A Replica Handbag

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:38 pm

Today there is no reason to spend $450.00 on an authentic Vuitton Monogram Papillion 30 Bag. With the number of replica handbag dealers on line there are many different replica designer bags to choose from. Better yet, there is probably no one you’re going to run into who will know the difference, you may not either. You’ll want to do your homework and take your time before buying a replica bag. You want to make sure that you get a good quality replica bag as some of them run in the $200.00 range.

Some online replica handbag sites actually have a hand in the manufacturing of the replicas. Look for these vendors. They choose the bag to be copied, choose the quality of the leather, the buckles and the zippers used. Higher quality business will do their absolute best to copy designer bags, down to the stitches used. They will inspect the bag paying attention to small details. They will also give you a money back guarantee or provide a one month warranty. These bags cost more than cheaper replicas, but they will be worth it.

Be wary of the cheaper replica handbags mass produced in China. Generally these cheap bags are easy to spot. The first clue as to the quality is price. A replica Fendi bag for $19.99 is going to be a disappointment. You will get what you pay for. Some of these dealers will show a picture of a authentic handbag on their website, but that isn’t the bag you’re going to get. Ask before you buy. If they don’t have enough faith in their products to offer a money back guarantee, don’t buy it.

If you are lucky enough to want to buy a real designer bag it can be a bit more difficult.

Know the old sayings “if it’s too good to be true it probably is” and “you get what you pay for” hold true. You can be assured that lovely Fendi Spy Bag on that online auction, the one starting at $249.00, the one with the bright yellow Fendi tag is not the real thing. No one would offer an authentic Fendi Spy Bag for $249.00.

Who you’re purchasing the bag from is of utmost importance. You can be guaranteed that when purchasing that Prada bag from Nieman Marcus or that Gucci from Bergdorf Goodman you’re getting an authentic bag, although perhaps not a deal. Check the e-luxury site. Louis Vuitton is one of the actual owners of the e-luxury site. Purchase your Coach bag from their online site. Needless to say authenticity is guaranteed.

Some buyers take their bags to stores like Nieman Marcus or Lord & Taylor to have them authenticated AFTER they purchase them. These department stores will not give a written authentication on a particular bag, but the salesperson will probably tell you whether or not they think the bag is authentic. Don’t purchase a bag from anyone without a money back guarantee - ever. If they don’t offer a money back guarantee you can be assured the bag isn’t authentic. Even if it’s the bag of your dreams don’t buy it. There will be another one.

Don’t be fooled thinking that only authentic bags have holograms and serial numbers. Those that make their money producing knock off bags are on their toes and keep up with any changes made in authentic bags. Even more importantly, when you see a bag for sale anywhere, do you really know what the hologram should look like? Do you know if the serial number should be on a separate metal plate or embossed inside the bag? Should the name Gucci also seen imprinted on the hardware on an authentic bag?

The best way to protect yourself when making ANY purchase is to educate yourself.

Unrevealed Tips for Negotiating Your Credit Card Debt

Filed under: Credit Infos, Money + Finance — admin @ 9:52 pm

Secret Tips For Negotiating Your Credit Card Debt

A lot of people think that it is hard to lower their credit card debt because they are worried that the credit card company doesn’t care about them. In actuality the credit card companies would like to help you and work out some kind of debt relief plan that works for you. They would rather have you pay a small amount of money instead of none at all. While negotiating your credit card debt there are a lot of strategies that you need to remember. These tips and strategies could benefit you greatly in the process.

The first thing that you need to keep in mind when trying to negotiate your credit card debt is to be honest about your situation when you are talking to the representative of the company you wish to negotiate with. You would be amazed at how lenient some companies can be when a person has a legitimate hardship, such as the loss of a job, the loss of a spouse, or are medically incapable to work for a period of time. Some credit card companies are now offering a type of credit card insurance to be able to suspend your payments for a period of time if any of these circumstances occur and interrupt your ability to make your payments because they have found that many of their customers experience these situations from time to time.

The next matter that you need to think of when attempting to negotiate your credit card debt is to make sure that you are talking with a person that will really be able to help you. Many of the low level employees at the credit card company may be instructed that they are not allowed to make those kinds of decisions for the customer and may try to deter you from pursuing the issue further by stating that there is nothing that they can do for you. Be persistent until you do find someone in the company that may be able to aid you and go to the local branch of the company, if you are able, to talk to somebody about your circumstance face to face.

It is very critical to always be kind and courteous to the individuals that you are talking to at the company when you are attempting to negotiate your debt. Even if you are growing frustrated by the inaction of the employees at the company, do not lose your cool because then the employees will be much less willing to hear to what you have to say. Being kind always receives a better response than being aggressive and remember, you would like these people to service you, not hang up on you.

Why A Communication Plan is Key

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:40 am

Having a good “communication” plan in place with your VA is an important step in creating your working relationship. When both parties know how the communications will flow there is a sense of comfort in the relationship. This does not mean that you have to completely stay with the plan you develop. As business grows and changes you may find the need to adjust your communication plan to better suit the current needs of both you and the client.

Some examples of communication plans that I have used are below:

The VA and client communicate by regular email and a one-hour telephone call each week to discuss current and future tasks. This type of communication plan works well with the client that you are working closely with on multiple projects. It provides both parties with a personal connection and allows for easy discussion rather than interpreting details from within an email. This weekly call is invaluable in the relationship with clients and I know they appreciate it also.

Another type of communication plan includes regular emails and bi-weekly or monthly one hour telephone calls. When working with a client on specific self-directed tasks such as article bank submissions, it may be easier to talk by telephone less often, but to keep communications open through email more frequently.

You and your client may also choose to check in by phone more or less frequently that the two plans I have mentioned above. The need for live voice communications (telephone or otherwise) is purposeful. It adds strength and builds trust in your relationship, which we all know is very important in growing and expanding your business. Each client’s needs and business are unique and require an individualized communication plan that meets both the needs of the VA and of the client.

Individuality and Working Together as One

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 10:05 pm

In the future the human brain will interface with computer networks and other brains within the whole; the whole being that of the “one” or the whole of humanity. Some might fear this, yet we have two hemispheres of our brain and half could be connected to the whole; the other to self. Think of the Internet and Blogs? On one hand you share information and data to the world, or if password protected to certain groups, yet as soon as you turn off your computer you are once again only connected to self. Even while on the Internet you are air-gapped or not completely connected.

If you look at a Bee Hive, those bees are quite content to service to the hive and are willing to sacrifice self to do so. Imagine now a human race which works together in a Capitalistic system for the benefit of the individual, “you” in that private place in your mind which becomes self fulfilled by helping others by sharing knowledge and promoting self by that feeling of doing good and helping. The flow of thoughts in this regard would be a wonderful Internet connection indeed; uninhibited instant communication. You would not give up self, but you could share that which makes you, you with whoever you wished. You could instantly communicate with all the people in the world who loved jet skiing and if they wished to, they could receive such information and communicate back. You could feel their experiences, virtual reality in your head without going anywhere.

Well you can imagine that there would be no more wars and if you are transferring thoughts and they were delivered in pictures or in a visual sense they are a universal language so that would not be an issue although those who think in terms of words would be understood since you have all the world’s knowledge in a chip. When you were ready to perish, you could transfer all your experiences in 4D to your offspring, so they would not make the same mistakes that you felt you did. Perhaps you could transfer them into the whole of human consciousness without time and backed up on a giant computer system. Think of the benefit to mankind if every one who died and all their worldly knowledge was saved forever? Now this is what the future will be at our present rate technological progression. And realize that science is moving in this direction.

http://www.bio-itworld.com/news/091603_rep…ml?action=print .

With all the Bio-metrics work being done we will see the merging of information and cognitive abilities go hyperbolic in the human brain. This is good in that it will increase the Flow of Thought, without barriers of language, location or time. Imagine the future, it is almost here. Think about it.

Picking Keywords for SEO - A Different View

Filed under: Search Engine Optimization + More — admin @ 3:52 am

The first step to developing any search engine optimization effort is picking keywords. The general consensus is pick keywords with solid amounts of traffic and a minimum of competition. At the risk of being laughed off the Internet, here’s a different view.

Going Big…Going VERY Big

Should you do research to identify keywords receiving lots of traffic? Absolutely. Of this group, should you identify the keywords with the lowest amount of competition? Again, yes. After all, who would be foolish enough to try to attack keywords with a few million competing sites? Well, me for one.

People that go for a keyword phrase like “for sale by owner” [2 million plus searches a month and KEI of 0.000000000…] are often dismissed as amateurs with unrealistic expectations. For those of us that have been in the business for some time, this bias deserves some reconsideration. The motivation is greed…pure and simple greed.

Seo greed is arises when one achieves top listings in Google, Yahoo and MSN for a site. Using the example above, assume the client is a car-listing site and you’ve conquered all the listings for “car for sale by owner.” Yes, it took 15 months, but the client is happy and so are you. Or are you?

After a few weeks, you start thinking, “Damn, I should have gone for the phrase ‘for sale by owner’ and the extra 700,000 searches a month.” You start getting visions of changing the site, but the anchor text in links and so on is already set. In the end, you feel dissatisfied because you want more, damn it!

A Different Approach

Okay, I am not advocating you throw competition analysis out the window. You should absolutely find keywords that have solid traffic and low competition. If nothing else, you need short-term carrots to keep you motivated. That being said, you must also plan for the inherent evil greed in your twisted little seo soul. Don’t even try to deny it.

Here it comes…

I am advocating you go for keywords with monstrous amounts of traffic, competition analysis be damned! Yes, I know. What a fool.

Throwing caution to the wind, I am even going to argue that…[drum roll]…you consider one-word keywords! I know… Blasphemy!…Insanity!…Stupid Moron…etc. But think about it. When you’ve accomplished your goals with low competition keywords, why not have a go at the biggies? What if you get them…even a few?

Putting it all together, my theory is this. Identify the low competition keywords, optimize your site and so on. Just make sure you also throw some “wishful thinking” keywords. If the optimized site survives for three or four years, you might just be thankful you did.

I’m off to optimize for the keyword “travel.” Lets see, Expedia is listed number 1 with a page rank of 8 and 67 thousand back links on Google.

Ha! Expedia I mock thee!
